windows 7 not booting up

i reset my PC last night and during the startup it said sometihng along the lines of "new software or hardware may have caused a problem to stop windows working" and gives the option of running repair or starting normally, however whenever i try to select it (once i touch the keyboard) it freezes, same if i let the countdown run to 0 it 'loads windows files' then freezes,

ive tried booting it up from the boot disk also but that freezes as well, no idea where to go from here =/

Did you install any new hardware or software?

Try unplugging it, or uninstalling it through safe mode.

no new hardware, only new software was CPU-Z, can't even get into safe mode

Maybe do a repair via the DVD?

You mention that you reset pc? ...........was that the BIOS if so you will have to go into the BIOS at start up and enter the correct date and config the other settings for your hardware.
