Windows 7 not connecting to Internet

I just installed windows 7 and it won't connect to the Internet, not even my router. Also I know this is a software problem as Ubuntu can connect just fine with not troubles what so ever. What do you guys recommend I do?

If you have just installed Windows are the network card / chipset drivers installed? Check network connections via Control Panel to see if you have any connections showing at all.

It has my computer name then a line with an x in then a greyed out internet. And it's not listing any connections from what I can see. :mad:

Go into control panel, then system / device manager. Check that the network adapter is installed.

I can't find anything to do with a network adapter, there is a Ethernet controller but that says that the drivers for it are not installed.

Then thats the one that requires the drivers. Find the manufacturers website of the motherboard and install both the chipset drivers and any ethernet / network ones for your operating system.
