Hi all
I have a problem with my laptop. It happened once before but hasn't since then and I checked it was all sorted but apparantly it isn't. When I start windows it loads past the welcome screen and then comes up with a black screen, my cursor and a note in the bottom left that says, "Windows 7, Build 7600, This copy of windows is not genuine." The thing is that it is genuine and is activated and everything. I have the box in my cupboard etc. When it did this before it was when the power lead wasn't plugged in so I just thought it was that, but it fixed itself and I checked it was properly activated etc. It would start in safe mode then but doesn't now. It was working perfectly last night.
Also it's only started in the past few goes trying to check my disk every time I turn it on, so I'm not sure if it's a hardware error? If I leave it to check the disk it sits for over an hour not doing anything, and if I skip it it comes up as not genuine.
Anyone any idea how I can fix this without reformatting - cause my whole steam folder and a load of other stuff is on it that I'd rather not lose...
Cheers guys. (sorry if it's the wrong forum if it's hardware but I thought I'd start here)
