Windows 7 not recognising remote

I have recently rebuild my media pc and upgraded to windows 7. Everything went smoothly apart from on board soundcard drivers being none existant but that was soon sorted with a new sound card. The only other issue i have now is that the media centre remote control is not working.

I have got an ehome RC6 reciever which is showing in device manager, when pressing buttons i get the red light on the recieved and i have tried 2 remotes but windows is now picking it up.

Can anyone help?

I have a similar problem only a few of the navigation buttons work. But then my remote is 7years old and I just put it down to that.

I'm surprised your sound card has no drivers is it an obscure chipset? Windows 7 will find 99% of hardware drivers via windows update.
