Hi all,

Very quick question for anyone who might know. When using a notebook computer running Windows 7, how can I get the power management tools (Win 7 built in) to show all three power modes?

At present, my Windows 7 install only shows the two modes used last so normally it'll show High Performance, and Balanced, but at times when the battery is running low, I'll need the Energy Saving (iirc) mode.

How can I get it to show all three?

Many Thanks.

Click the battery icon and click More Power Options :/

That's how I'm doing it now. I wanted to know if there's a way to show all of the different plans in the pop up menu that appears when you click on the battery icon.

Oh sorry, I understand now. It is a known frustration of Windows 7. The basic idea was MS would rather people just leave it on Balanced and not change it at all. Not so useful for those of us who like to tinker and have a few different profiles.

Apparantly using Windows Key + X gives you more options, but I don't have my laptop handy to try it.

Not to worry, I should've made it clearer in my first post :o

That worked a treat though, it's annoying that there are only two profiles in the pop up list, but this method is definately easier than going through the power options and finding the one I need.

Many thanks mate.
