Windows 7 now on MSDN:AA

My MSDNAA account doesn't have it yet :( however I think I remember hearing that my uni adds products manually to it, I was told early September. So some people may have to wait a while longer.

Good news though :)

Still only the RC on mine, my uni is the same as tnt's they take their time adding things

yup, that's correct from what i've read. it's upto the local admins to make it accessible for students. i'm pretty sure it came out around the same time as the main technet/msdn release.

I saw this the other day on my account.
So this is the final version that'll be released to the public in October?

Talking to Southampton Uni's MSDN admin, it only became available to add over the last few days at the earliest.

Yup it's a full final version of Windows 7 Professional.

One thing I forgot is that you get separate keys for x86 and x64 versions, keys which are equally valid for either version. Means I've got Win 7 Pro x64 activated on both my desktop and laptop. Licensing terms are pretty generous too.

Maybe drop an email to the faculty's support desk if it isn't available yet. It's only a matter of the MSDNAA admin logging in, checking a couple of boxes and clicking enable.

Nice!

They did this before with Vista and I activated my laptop and PC with the same disc but different keys. Nice 'feature' :D

This appeared on my uni one this morning, but unfortunately I'm fresh out of blank dvds and I'm absolutly skint so is there anyway of installing this without using a dvd. Ive got both a laptop and a desktop to use.

Just got mine through :)

How do activations work with Windows 7? Is it just a case of ringing up after several activations (claiming format/reinstall) and doing it manually or are there harsher restrictions?
