Hey all

I ordered an OEM copy of Windows 7 Pro x64 for a friend. I'm going to put it on his Sony Vaio TZ laptop when it arrives. I was thinking there'd be no problems with 64-bit since I've been running Vista 64 for 2 years with no hassle, but when I did a bit more looking it turns out it's fairly tough to get everything running on the TZ with a 64-bit OS. So I'd prefer to put 32-bit on initially anyway just to make sure 7 runs ok on the laptop.

Is the OEM licence valid for both 32 and 64-bit versions of 7? From the Windows licensing thread is sounds like it is for Vista, I just want to check if this is the same with 7. And can I download an ISO image of the 32 bit version and use that with the product key from the 64-bit case? I'm currently downloading Do not link to pirated software! which claims to be an untouched Microsoft image.

Thanks

Oops, didn't know that downloading uncracked images was illegal! Sorry mods.

And everything worked fine, cheers Rainmaker. Seems an OEM key is valid for x86 and x64 then.
