Hey guys, just a quick question.

If i was to do a full wipe on my pc to bring it back to "factory settings" would i be able to re use my windows 7 OEM edition?

Tried googling it but nothing is clear, some say yes and some say no.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

As its the same system you be fine, might need to phone up the Automatic activation line if it's does not do this over the web.

Okay cheers mate, so i just boot into BIOS click wipe or whatever and then reboot it with the windows disk in?

boot into bios and changed boot order to dvd / cd

then save and reboot, press your tab key if you don't see any info and it boots into windows, restart it again and press either F2 or del or whatever your boot menu is for your mothernboard

once into the boot screen you get a message that says boot from cd / dvd

press yes or press what ever key it tells you to press, when you get into the menu's, you need to wipe the drive, for me i always remove the partition and let windows make a new one, this way nothing is left over and you get a fully clean install, windows will auto do everything for you and you just sit back and wait

one thing to check before you do anything!

make and model of pc is use?

if it's a branded pc, it may have a recovery image already on the pc hard drive, hidden just for this purpose, and will not only do all you want, but will add drivers and software for you, so check before you do anything and good luck
