Windows 7 on my iMac

Installed this via bootcamp without any major issues,

the auto install for bootcampX64 didn't work but running it directly off the disk worked without a problem and all devices installed including my wireless mighty mouse!

if anyone needs any help or has any questions regarding this experiment please ask away!

Actually very good,

i'm supprised at how quick it starts and loads up programs,

the windows experience index scores well also!

Ok i've done some more testing now,

i had no sound at first however downloading the latest realtech hd audio drivers solved that,

the onboard camera works flawlessly and was much faster than in XP when using msn video.

completed the windows experience index.

Procesor = 6.4
Ram = 5.9
Graphics = 6.1
Gaming Graphics = 5.0
HDD = 5.8

this is from a 2.8 iMac with 4gb Ram and 320gb HDD

considering the iMac is basically a modified laptop i don't think these scores are bad at all

considering this is a beta OS it appears much more stable than vista ever did and i don't feel too ashamed running it on my beloved mac!

according to the system specks on the iMac the hdd is a

WD Caviar® Blue
320 GB, 3 Gb/s, 8 MB Cache, 7200 RPM

i have installed Windows 7 on a 32gb partition of this.

no the only reason i have any version of windows installed is,

1 because the wife has a program needed for work that is wondows only
2 i video chat with my parents on msn

i am just impressed at how well it actualy runs on a mac....

one major problem,

as windows had to format the partition to NTFS, this has erased the bootcamp credentials so to switch between the two i have to now...

1 - go into the bootcamp settings in OS-X
2 - insert the windows 7 dvd
3 - tell OS-X to start windows installer
4 - wait for it to restart with the message "press any key to boot from disk"
5 - not press the "any key"
6 - let windows 7 start

it's not something i've given much consideration to,

windows is used rarely ,

i can go months without needing it and my parents haven't got a webcam yet so hopefully by the time they do next month mac messenger should support video and audio
