The wifes PC upstairs is now the last remaining PC in the place running XP and i was wondering if anyone on here had put Win 7 on anything a bit more 'technically' challenged?.

P4 (Skt 478) 3.2ghz
2gb Geil PC3200 ram
512meg ATi X1950 Pro
LanParty 875B mobo
320gb sata HDD
sata dvdrw

Its only used for Office/internet/etc and no gaming at all. Reckon it'd run half decent?.
:)

I've ran it on a system similar to that (similar apart from a better gfx card and an Athlon 4000+) without any problems, maybe a little slower at things but it ran decent enough to be worthwhile and not a pain.

I'm running Althlon XP 1700 with 512MB RAM and it runs quicker than XP ever did!

:D

Cheers guys, will give it a go over new years when i've got a couple of days off i reckon!. As for drivers, i had trouble with my Skt939 LanParty mobo and nothing being available for Windows 7...i'm hoping with hers being Intel based though it should be pretty painless.
:)

Had windows 7 Home Basic running perfectly fine and speedy on a Dell Dimension 1100. Celeron 2.66, 1GB RAM and a 40GB HDD.
