Is it worth putting Windows 7 on a P4 3.2Ghz with 3GB DDR1?

Currently has XP and I'm just wondering if it'd be worth the upgrade?

Cheers

I am running Windows 7 32 bit on a P4 530(3GHz) with 4 GB DDR2(back up PC till my Water loop gets fixed). It is worth it over XP.

It would run ok. Would I spend money on a new license for such an old box though? I'm not sure, but if you bought a retail copy it's transferrable so why not?

As theheyes said it will run fine, my laptop is a 1GHz IBM thinkpad and it copes just fine for photoshop and web browsing! With that, I would recommend the change from XP to 7!

I ran Windows 7 32bit for a short while on a AMD Sempron 2800+ 2GHZ with 1.25gb of ram and a Ati 9600 Pro graphics card,And to my amazement it was actually quite snappy,So yeah to the OP i think it would run it fine,But unless your wanting some feature windows 7 has that Xp does not then i dont really see the point,If you already had a copy then yes definatly but if you have got to go out and buy it i would wait until your next major upgrade.

Theres still a lot of windows Xp users out there....good OS,Only real reason i ever upgraded to 7 i because i wanted DX10/DX11 features.

Good to know. I'm wanting win 7 on this machine because some open source media center packages don't work on xp any more.
