Windows 7 only recognising 2 of my i5-4670k's cores

So today I managed to upgrade my cpu without breaking anything. My only issue is that neither task manager, CPUZ, or SpeedFan recognise more than 2 cores. Msconfig only allows me to boot using 2 cores also. However device manager does list 4 cpus.

Is there a fix for this?

I've had a look at the bios but cant seem to find where it says the number of cores. I cant check right now as I'm at work.

the board is an gigabyte H81M-D2V.

clearing the cmos,mb battery left out for 10minutes might help,esp if you swapped cpu's

No I replaced a dual core i3 which is where I think the problem stems from

So I just power off, locate/remove the battery and wait 10 mins?

I would rest or update the BIOS.

yeah,or flash latest bios,either will reset the cmos

I updated my bios, windows is still not wanting to believe that I have 4 cores...

click start type in ms config in the searchbox then boot/advanced options and makesure processors box are unticked
