Windows 7 or 8 / 10

Just replaced my motherboard and installed a SSD, my old windows 7 was included with the prebuilt PC, I have been told the windows 7 (old oem) might not install onto the new system.
The question is should I go for windows 8 or 10 and what are the pro's and cons

I would probably buy a copy of 8/8.1, and then take advantage of the free upgrade to 10. Provided that works out cheaper than buying 10 in the first place, not really looked into it!

Actually having looked at it, I'd just buy this - link.

I would try to install W7 first (you will probably have to call MS to activate it though).

If it works, keep it or upgrade to W10.

If not, buy W10.
