My shiny new pc parts should arrive tomorrow and I'm in two minds as what to put on it...

I use both at the moment and have no real preference and my opinions probably wont change much when 8.1 comes out either (I've learned to live with the metro stuff). Is there any hardware support that's Windows 8 specific that I should consider? I'm thinking in the realms of DX11 and SSD trim support...

I've got an MSDN subscription so the cost isn't an issue.

Thoughts?

Better to get newer os in my opinion. The start button's coming back and there are Addons to get it back in the meantime. It's a bit zippier to startup. That was the main benefit for me. Uses a little less space too.
I have to admit, I must be the only person who doesn't really miss the start button - I don't actually use it. Win+R is faster for me anyway :)

Yeah, I'll probably take a look at it next month when it hits MSDN out of curiosity more than anything. It's been a LONG time since I last built a machine! If there's no real gain in terms of hardware support, I'll probably just go for 8 anyway.
