Windows 7 or Windows 8?

Samsung 840 Pro Boot Drive

Use is gaming, uni work and folding.

Which would you choose? (64 bit clearly!)

unleash the W8 rage...

if buying new, I'd choose 8 with startisback, provided you'll get it cheaper cheaper than W7.

If you already have a licence for one or the other then stick with it otherwise just get Windows 8.
