Hi,

I just built a RAID 0 SSD and installed windows 7. While researching, some reviews suggested moving the page file off my SSD onto another HDD. I have done this just now, but then I started thinking that Microsoft set it to the OS drive for a reason, have I made my system worse or better?

SSD's are the exception to the normal rule of windows knowing better than you when it comes to pagefile management (some people still recommend manual management, but they can't help being stuck in the windows 98 days).

Because of the way an SSD reads and writes data, having a volatile file on there is generally a bad idea, so moving the pagefile to a standard HD is a good idea.

explains how the way an SSD behaves is different from a normal drive and why moving the pagefile (if windows hasn't already done it automatically) is a good idea.
