Hi all.

I was wondering if there was any difference between the party pack issue of Windows 7 Ultimate compared to the retail version? Or is it identical and can it be transfered to another PC etc?

I have not opened my own party pack signature edition W7 Ultimate as I thought I should save it until my RC versions ran out, as I am hoping to have a newer PC by then, I used RC in my last build just in case I could not re-use it.

There's no difference at all. It is just a standard copy of Windows 7 Ultimate retail. The signature edition DVDs are exactly the same as the standard promotional copies that were given out at the Microsoft launch events - the only difference is that the signature edition copies came with the fancy signature edition sleeve.

So it's not like an OEM single motherboard version then?

I had thought as it came in a card sleeve and was free it would be different to the £175 retail package? IE lesser in some way? Or does the retail package also come in a card sleeve?

Stil if there is no rush to use it it can stay in it's packaging until I decide what I want to build after Xmas :)

sorry my spelling is poor today, off work sick :D

you get my drift though, install it on your current pc now, and then when you get a new pc, format the old one and reinstall on the new one
