Windows 7 premium or pro

Can someone tell me if I pay £60 or £30 from the ultimate steal offer of MS.

It says you can upgrade to pro for £30. Do I need to first buy the premium one for £30 and then buy the pro upgrade for £30?

Looks like it's £30 for Pro when upgrading from an earlier version of Windows - not on top of buying a Win 7 Home Premium licence.

It just means you buy Pro and you get an Upgrade version so you need a previous Windows install to be on the machine which Win7 will overwrite.

The normal versions can be installed on a PC with no Windows on.

That's what I can see from that link!

Ah, so the premium one can be installed on a computer with no OS and the pro one can only be installed on an computer with an existing OS. Is that correct? It is imporant I get it right!

Nope - they are both upgrade versions, requiring a previous version of windows.

Ok - thanks for that. I do find it strange that MS are offering the Pro for no extra charge. Who and why would anyone buy the premium then? Very odd.
