Windows 7 Pro upgrade DVD / XP Pro full disc

A question,

I want to install windows 7 pro onto a pc. I have a legit DVD upgrade for Win 7 Pro and a legit XP Pro DVD with keys.

Do I proceed to install win 7 pro and does the system them ask me for an XP pro key or sight of the XP Pro DVD.

Not sure how to proceed? Any advice please?

Have read I can install the upgrade and do a registry tweak so its eq. to a full install - or do a double install - anybody done either of these please?

If none of those work, you could try downloading Windows 7 from the Microsoft site.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows7

I presume you can download the ISO with an upgrade key, never tried it myself TBH, I have retail.

Use the Windows USB tool http://wudt.codeplex.com if you wanna put it on a flash drive.

Once you've got XP on the PC do a cold boot from the Win 7 update disk.

During set-up you can delete all of the prior partitions made by XP & continue with a clean install, with this method, obviously any docs / Pics etc which you created using XP will be lost.

Currently only having an upgrade Win7 Pro disk myself ,I've done this on many occasions.

I use method #2 from that article, works everytime, remember don't enter a product key during install. :cool:
