Windows 7 Pro x64 - unsupported hardware??

turned my PC on today and had a message to say there was some updates so installed them.

after rebooting my PC and the updates being applied I get this message pop up

How can my processor be unsupported hardware but then be ok to work on the latest version of windows?? (im guessing its referring to W10)

My current system is a I7 950, 6GB of ram, Nitro 390 Asus X58 mobo and 2 x 250GB SSDs.

now I did do the W10 upgrade and can install this if I choose too but I had far too many issues with it which is why its back on Windows 7.

and it seems like Microsoft are now blocking old hardware from Windows update not just Kaby Lake and Ryzen processors!

yeah I had that too, with AMD Athlon II dual core. Been working fine.

Stupid windows updates.

Thing is, if they want me to use W10 they can come along and fix the issues I have with it as none of my hardware has any w10 drivers except for the GPU

For a change I'm with Microsoft on this - why should they support hardware released after mainstream support has ended? If you want the latest hardware, you need ot use software that is suitable too. Drivers are produced by the hardware manufacturer, not microsoft so again not their issue?

How on earth is a i7 950 and a Athlon II the latest hardware? This is just Microsoft trying to force people to upgrade to 10 again.

This should only be displayed on Kaby Lake & Ryzen, its clearly a bug.
