Ive recently done a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, all drivers are upto date including the graphics card etc.

At first i could play shop bought dvd's in media player then all of a sudden i keep getting the error in the pic below, ive tried it in media player classic and its the same. My 2 optical drives are both pioneer drives, both are fairly new and both the firmware seems to be upto date. My graphics card is an AMD 7850 HD, thats also upto date with the graphics card. The output to the monitor is from the graphics card.

HDCP?

I've seen that error before... but I was running non-standard firmware on my DVD drive at the time. Got anything else running in the background?

I don't want to preempt anything lol, i may have solved this.

As well as my AMD 7850HD the onboard graphics were enabled, i disabled the onboard graphics and in the Init Display First i enabled PEG so it goes to the PCIEX16 slot on boot.

Ive tried several dvd's since and touch wood they have all loaded fine without any errors being displayed in Windows Media Player.

I'm still learning with the software and bios side of PC's as i'm fairly new to PC building, i know more than i did last year so its progress :)

Ive give up with the windows media player now lol, sometimes it works, on other boots it doesn't.

I'm now using PowerDVD 12 for playing my media which is working fine without any problems so far.
