Windows 7 problem with 8th gen cpu

Ok i have the Asus ROG z370-h with 8th gen I7 8700k cpu and tried to install windows 7 but the drivers after installing win 7 the drivers for keyboard and mouse wont work? Is it true that the new cpu's will only work with Win10.

any help on this is much appreciated.

In theory it is possible to run Windows 7 on an i7 8700K but you will need to do some manual application of drivers, injecting stuff into the install media and tweaking which might be different motherboard to motherboard so non-trivial.
