They aren't obliged to cater to unreleased operating systems, and most certainly aren't obliged to cater to people who use leaked Windows pre-release builds attained off bittorrent sites and the like. Even-Balance has got Punkbuster to work perfectly fine on build 7100 - the only version that's legitimately available for open testing.

Trying to get the freshest most current betas, and people expect everything and anything to work willy-nilly on them? Not quite...
 
Didn't work for me on 7100 either. Gone back to Vista for now though...

As previously stated, expect to have problems with certain things untill we're told otherwise.
 
Gah I just F ing hate Punkbuster + Treyarch. They've pretty much rendered by COD 5 on PC unplayable. Why can't they have a no cheating system like on CSS and other games on Steam, I have had to manually installed Punkbuster and still I don't think that COD 5 is working properly.
 
aye, its been a pain for me toplay cod4 with pb.. however. Since being on 7127 x64 (been on it quite a while now) cod4 works on the majority of servers. Sometimes the odd server will kick with the "unknown api" error but its very unlikely. I have no idea why but earlier builds were getting me constantly kicked. Havent tried any later because i want to make sure i can play cod4 ^^

hes not on punkbusters site asking them is he?

games with pb do work sometimes on some builds (cod4 works fine on the majority of servers on build 7127 x64 for me) and its a much nicer OS to use than vista/xp so why not.. perfectly fine question if u ask me

Yup, WaW MP is the biggest pain in the backside piece of retarded carp I've ever seen called a game. Tried many times to play online, only to be defeated by various problems. HOW they managed to mess up the rather reliable COD4 engine, I don't know.

sorry I didnt realise it was compulsary to be an ass to everyone who doesnt use the search button for absolutely every topic they're thinking of (or asks questions about punkbuster that are perfectly valid), my mistake

Indeed, but I think the comment was justified in that we shouldnt expect them to have PB working on all pre-release versions.

7100 was viable because it was RC1 and adopted by the masses.

Analogy: PB and Microsoft are in a race. Microsoft are going round the track already and its going to be tough for PB to catch them. PB may as well just wait for them to come round again and start off together.
