I've just built my new pc and I'm having a few errors whichyou guys might be able to help me with.

I'm runningan amd based asus crosshair III formula motherboard and my drivers won't install due to the message on the lines of "platform not supported".

Also my ati radeon gpu drivers have installed but while downloading the update in disappeared off the face of the hard drive.

Anybody know if there are drivers which are supported for W7 or if the xp installation side (not sure where that is yet) is the best option to use?

On the plus side my idle temps are between 34-35 degrees :D

help!

I want my Asus AI Suite and crossfire :(

Thanks

Are you running 32 or 64bit win 7

It sounds like you are trying to install the wrong drivers i.e 32bit drivers on 64bit OS

Nope, it's 64bit for definite. I wanted to look at the disk prior to install on my backup computer which runs xp and it said it wasn't the right type.

Have Asus released any Windows 7 drivers or are you using the Windows Vista ones? (Which I am guessing are the drivers you're using)

If you're using the Windows Vista drivers, then if you right click on the .exe file and go down to the properties option. Then under the "Compatibility" tab, and under the "Compatibility mode" heading, choose the "Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows Vista Service Pack 2". See if that helps.

I haven't tried that yet, I'll give it a go and report back in a bit thanks.

Also a worrying result is in the system settings;

Installed memory (ram): 4gb (2.75gb usable)

anybody got an idea about what's causing that?

If there is a memory re-mapping option in the BIOS, if you change it from it's current setting, Windows should then have access to all 4GB of RAM that you have installed.

cool. I haven't looked i bios yet as everything worked straight off. Was just pusseling that windows recognised it as being 4gb, usually if it knows it's there it'll have the option to change it in windows somewhere.

Haven't tried the motherboard drivers yet but have got ati ccc installing :)

edit: Well the configuration didn't work, still won't run. searching the disc there is details of win 7 so there should be drivers although the asus website doesn't recognise the os as yet.

the ram issue could be because I have one in a1 and a2, but the book is unclear.

main thing is I can't access bios. on post there's two options "del" and "tab". one checks the os and the other asks for safe mode. would I need to enable the clr_cmos jumper on the board?

I'm sesing I might revert to vista until the official is released.

thanks
