OK, I've got an interesting problem.
Just installed W7 RC x64 on my machine and its suddenly lacking USB controllers.

I thought it might be a chipset inf problem, so I attempted to dowload it from Gigabyte.... but only the onboard audio is available for W7 x64. I've read that all the required nForce drivers are already in W7, but I downloaded nad tried the Vista x64 chipset install anyway.... still the same.

I'm a little stuck with no mouse and a PS2 keyboard atm - anyone got any ideas??

What motherboard do you have? I've never had to install chipset drivers for any Windows install to recognise USB before (>win98)..

Try booting from a linux live CD to make sure it's not a hardware issue.

It's not a new machine and it was fine on XP.
Oddly, after about 10 or so reboots, it's suddenly found the firewire controller but still no USB.

Tried Backtrack (sp?) and it's showing them fine.

faulty install? maybe it didn't install the USB drivers...

i've had installs of windows that didn't load the keyboard and mouse drivers!

Well my 4x Velociraptors (FINALLY) arrived today, so I'll have another stab at reinstalling :D

Need to get it right and so that I'm happy with it before my retail copy arrives on launch day.

Odd.... worked second time around - reckon the installer had a bit of a flip, but why didn't it get detected after install???
