So my win 7 quite often takes several times to boot up properly. When it boots first get verious error messages and the start button only has one option "shut down". There is not even restart.

Then after booting few more times all is back to normal. Why?

If it's like that I'd probably go for a re-install. Sounds like the OS could be horribly corrupt.

Maybe run sfc /scannow from an elevated command prompt when you have booted to desktop. You could also try a repair install and see if that does any good.

Did anything happen to the system prior to this happening? The error messages you're getting, are they BSODs or something else?

Also, run a checkdisk on your system drive (do this first).

I would back your stuff up, chkdisk to see if the os is faulty, if that comes back fine the run a hd checking utility. I'll see which one I use and get back to you.
