Windows 7 - Recycle bin on Start menu problem

Hi Guys

Ive got a problem, or more of an annoyance with Windows 7.

On Windows Vista, i had my Recycle Bin pinned to my Start Menu, and it worked perfectly. I could right click on it and it would show me the right click context menu with the option of "Empty the Recycle Bin"

On Windows 7 however, i have pinned the Recycle Bin to the Start Menu, however when i right click on it, the following happens...

What im trying to do, is make the icon so when i right click it, i can empty the recycle bin from the right click context menu, instead of having to open it and then empty it.

It was possible in Vista, but i can't seem to find out why i can't do it in Windows 7.

Any ideas?

(No i don't want it on the Taskbar)

This was annoying change they made between the beta and RC, removing extended menus from some features :(

I've not found a way to do what you want, other than to use SHIFT+RIGHT CLICK to show you the "hidden" options.

BTW It behaves the same on the taskbar too :(

Ah, shift + right click will do the job.

Thanks!

btw there is a way to get the recycle bin on the taskbar, it makes the icon smaller then the rest but it's there next to the clock if you want to know?

Using a new toolbar yes? It does work, but it looks untidy. I'd just prefer the Recycle Bin to be in the Explorer jump list and let you empty by right clicking, not shift+right clicking...

I did look for registry settings during beta/RC, but couldn't find anything obvious.

yep i think we have the same technique, though maybe not as imo it looks tidy enough, sat next to the clock is better imo and it's small like the icons are usually next to the clock. works a treat.
