Windows 7 remote desktop NLA?

I'm currently sat on my laptop (Windows 7 Ultimate x86-32 Release Candidate), and trying to access a server (using mstsc) I have sat at the other side of the room (Server 2008 R2 trial), and it tells me that the server requires NLA (network level authentication), and won't connect.

Now the strange thing is, I'm sure that mstsc has supported NLA since vista pre SP1, so why would my 7 RC build be telling me that I don't have NLA?

Any ideas?

on the R2 install, go to the remote tab

there may be 3 options..

don't allow connections to this computer

allow connectinos using any version of RD (this is what I tick in W7)

only allow NLA connections

I don't have R2 installed, but I assume it's on #3...

Well, I want NLA to be required, what I can't work out is why the 7 client is reporting that it doesn't have NLA when according to all resources I can find, it DOES support it.

Paradigm,

Microsoft does have an official Windows 7 RC Support Forum located. It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You may want to check the threads available there for additional assistance and feedback.
