Hi guys,

Ive just installed Windows 7 RC via dual boot and have already come across something that is irksome... On XP I can push my screen resolution high however on Windows 7 64-Bit locks me at 1280" X 1024" and wont let me go any higher. Icons etc are a lot larger than im used too!

Does anyone have a fix?

not a fix but you can make your icons smaller :)

left click on an empty spot on the desktop
hold ctrl and use the scroll wheel on your mouse ;)

My graphic card drivers were detected properly and running the correct resolution. So i would check up on that and maybe update yours.

I have a Radeon 4870 1GB and just downloaded the Win 7 64 bit drivers installed, restarted and it set my resolution at that.... im on a 20inch digimate tft thats a few years old but still its never been an issue before

Assuming you've got all the drivers installed, I think you have a problem with your EDID monitor files. My mate had the same problem with his monitor, when it wouldn't let him get a higher resolution even though he had all drivers install, and it worked in XP.

He used a program called PowerStrip, and he edited the EDID files. In PowerStrip is has a function that detects and corrects malformed EDIDs. You need to run it in admin mode aswell to get it work.
