hi

i have the odd bit of trouble with my linksys wrt54gl cable broadband router it sometimes just stops working , im aware this is not windows 7 compaitable.

what i would like to ask is ,is there any good wireless routers for a cable broadband setup that are windows 7 compaitable?

cheers

hi

i did upgrade to the tomatoe firmware but its a bit more confusing for me to set it up, if i dont tend to use all the extra options should i just stick with the official firmware?

on the tomatoe i was having trouble with how to clone my pc's mac address and set up wpa2 encryption and also a different password to log into the routers homepage?

cheers

a router is a router, they don't care what OS you have

install Tomato, then do a clear nvram

Go to Administration/Configuration and select "Erase all NVRAM..."

Now setup the router

Without doing the clear, you can get old data stuck in the ram, which causes instability

thanks , would you happen to know where i have to clone my pc's mac address?

ive got a home broadband cable connection which ive added a router to enable a wireless signal , i was told once by linksys support to clone pc mac address when they helped me set it up?

do i need to clone it?

thanks

thankis again:)

im having troublr setting up my wireless printer it finds a network but its called wireless , how do i change the broadcast name of my router?

thanks

after all this ive had to revert to linksys firmware as i had trouble connecting my lexmark printer up wireless , it kept saying unable to obtain ip address?:(

Maybe switch to WPA-TKIP instead of WPA2-TKIP/AES. I've had issues with wireless printers/print servers not authenticating correctly/fully when using the higer encryption.

so you think this could be the problem with the printer not connecting up?

i put linksys firmware back on and it connected fine with wpa2 tkip/aes.
