Does anyone have the RTM version from technet, etc? I have Avast installed and get a lot of explorer.exe crashes when doing things such as right clicking on the desktop. They go away for a bit after a reboot and can work for hours but when they come back I can't right click without it crashing!

I've uninstalled Avast and put the test version of Kasperky on as that is Windows 7 certified but was wondering if anyone else had Avast issues? Giving it a while to see if the crashes still occur as they are random and it is ntdll.dll causing explorer crashes when right clicking to copy a file, empty recycle bin, open properties, etc.

As it occurs when I'm right clicking it looks like it could be caused by context menus crashing and I've noticed Avast is the only program with a context menu icon at the moment? It's a new build so only has a few programs on it! Never had a problem with Windows 7 32bit RC.

I'm using the Windows 7 64bit RTM now.

I also don't understand the "Windows 7" version of Kaspersky being an RC? Are they saying Kaspersky 2010 doesn't work with Windows 7 yet? For £30 I'd rather know before buying anything!

Why comodo :o Windows firewall is more than capable. Maybe that was the problem.?

Yeah I uninstalled Comodo first as Ive been running avast since the Win 7 beta and not had a problem but the problem was still there so wondering if it broke it. Thought it was either Comodo or the RTM of Win 7. If the problem still crops up without avast ill rebuild the machine and not put comodo on at all and see what happens!

Comodo has better access control than windows firewall and shows more information on connections, etc. It is what caught a rootkit keylogger last time as the AV didnt detect ir (was using AVG at the time which is why I binned it!) but comodo flagged up a weird program that kept trying to access the internet. I then used a rootkit scanner and found the keylogger hidden away.

I might be avast, I'm having a similar problem with XP x64.
Right clicking on an icon can randomly lock up explorer.exe, killing explorer in the task manager and reloading it if it doesn't automatically restart usually gets things back on track until the next random lockup.

I am using Avast, but not Comodo nor EVE.
