Windows 7 Service Pack 1

Hey guys! I have that bloody Windows Update icon telling me to install the Service Pack update for my system, but I'm not really sure if I should. Is it really necessary? What advantages will that give me? My system is fine right now but I don't know if I should install the Service Pack.

Yes.

It's highly recommended. It includes many important security and performance improvements and many games and applications actually require it to ensure compatibility (increasing over time). There really isn't any reason you SHOULDN'T install it.

Yes! It's been out for months now and there's no reason not to install it. I'd install it just for security reasons.

Microsoft has done their best to make w7 idiot proof. Threads like this make me wish the automatic instillation of patches included service packs.

I've had my computer try and restart on me for the last 3 days now! Postpone for 4 hours! Ahh annoying.
