Windows 7 Sidbar Gadgets

I've finally taken the plunge and moved from Vista to Windows 7.

A problem I'm having is that I can't find any decent sidebar gadgets. I enjoyed Vista because it allowed a sidebar as we all know. The ones I'm using don't seemingly like Windows 7 (specifically I.E. 8 and a custom DPI), and unfortunately the Hobby Lounge, where I got these from has shut down. I think I'm having a slight google fail :p as the websites I'm finding have rubbish on them. I know there are decent ones out there just by looking in the giant Wallpaper thread.

I need a clock (not really that important), CPU meter, RAM meter, drive meter if possible. Ideally they'd look the same.

Cheers in advance.

Edit - 'sidebar' if a passing mod could be so kind.

I don't know if it was just me, just I found Windows sidebar gadgets to be a bit of a mare TBH... They caused micro stutter in video playback and games..

I turned the whole sidebar.exe off using msconfig and haven't bothered with them since...

google SFkilla as he is still working on his sidebar gadgets from The Hobby Lounge but not under the name of Hobby Lounge (If that makes any sense?)

Just looking through his site now, not all of his gadgets are Win 7 compliant yet. Even though a few are later versions to what I used to have, still have that annoying purple border. :/

Another question about Win 7. On the Taskbar where open programs, folders and files are shown to be open, I can hover over them such that they're splayed across the bottom of the screen, rather than their content if that makes any sense. I get little previews like for example when several VLC Media Player instances and their playlists are opened. This is what I want, and looks like :

Opera however behaves differently. For some reason, rather than my 6 windows of tab sessions spreading out akin to the above, only the individual pages get displayed in one massive long list that spreads all the way to the top of the screen. Like this :

Is there anyway to get it to change / behave like the other items?

Opera behaves differently on my laptop probably because I have fewer tabs open.

There's probably only so many little windows that opera can show unless you've got a 27" screen!

I see, just opened up loads of VLC instances and found the same thing. I only have 6 Opera windows open though, why is it not reading them as that number of items instead of all the tabs? Is there a way of changing its behaviour?

Another problem I'm having (copied & pasted from Winamp's forums where I posted it first) :

In Vista I'd connect my PFS/"Plays For Sure" MP3 player (a Sony NWZ series which is fully working) and it's immediately accessible to Winamp. I'd then be able to find it in the Media Library window or through the 'Send To' function by right clicking a tune in the Playlist Editor. However this behaviour is lost in Windows 7, instead the OS picks up the player and seemingly only allows me to browse the contents or undesirably access it using Windows Media Player.

Does anybody know what is going on? Or how I can get Winamp to take over the functions to my MP3 player?

how bout Alienware XenoMorph?

Cheers but not really my thing.
