Drivers or poor setup would be my best guesses. Under absolutely zero circumstances will Windows 7 ever be 'slower' than Vista, especially not a fresh install.

Poor set up as in you've cocked up installing it, not as in you've installed it on the wrong hardware.

However a faulty, albeit new Seagate drive, could explain things. Assuming you've installed 7 on the Seagate, but vista on a different drive.

The only thing i did not do before installing windows 7 , i did not format the drive when i got from OC  Maybe that could be the problem

No. You should have reformatted it then installed Windows 7. Although you do this when booting off the doovde anyway.

Actually I found Win7 slightly slower then Vista when I first used it. I can only assume that either it is a little slower to begin with due to indexing etc or that it is slightly slower in general.

Either way for me there wan't much in it.

My Inspiron 1520 was around the same with the two OS's, both clean installs too. Now I've got an SSD though Windows 7 is just stupidly responsive :)

My install of w7 has really slowed down lately...

I was thinking it was something to do with all the window7 updates and microsoft security essentials free anti-spyware software
