Windows 7 SP1 Beta - Available

If you have been getting all the updates since installing Win 7, chances are, you have SP1, all but in name.

This, really.

It should be noted testing a BETA service pack is, a lot of the time, a one-way process. So if it goes belly up, you may not be able to uninstall it.

I thought that SP1 has been focused on Server 2008 R2 and for Windows 7 users it’s just all the bug fixes from windows update. LOL, it's non-reversible.

Please Note: This early release of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Beta is not available for home users. The SP1 Beta does not provide new end-user features, and installation is not supported by Microsoft.

It's not for home users anyway.

It just seems to be generic updates/patches all bundled together but it does add dynamic memory to hyper-v and remotefx. Will install the sp later after I've rebooted.

Vids here

I take it Windows 7 SP1 is no big deal if you already have all the latest updates from Windows Update and is not one of those service packs like SP3 was to
Windows XP, adding exclusive improved performance enhancements, security fixes etc that you won`t get with the updates from Windows Update?
