Hi just bought a copy of windows 7 ultimate retail, I installed SP1 (KB 976932) it has now changed my genuine copy to evaluation copy build 7601?

The service pack has installed and shows up as SP 1 v.721

I have tried installing it with windows activated and formatted the disc and tried it unactivated but still comes up at the bottom right “Windows 7 Evaluation Copy Build 7601)

I am stumped, any help would be appreciated, I have tried Google, but it’s just showing up the pre-release version?

googling "sp1 v721" says is a Release candidate not the final rtm version is it not?
thats why it shows that in the corner near the clock

make sure you have downloaded the rtm version of sp1

You'll need the latest SP1 verison, i was running my machine as you have described with the RC until they officially released the RTM.
