Windows 7 SP1 Installation Failing

Somehow my computer has managed to get itself completely stuck while installing SP1. I turned it on this morning and it worked fine for 15 minutes or so, then hung during use. I eventually restarted it and it booted with the "configuring SP1" screen, which hung at 14% for a good few hours.

Now whenever I try and start the computer I get the message "Failure configuring service pack. Reverting changes", which also doesn't appear to be doing anything.

Any advice on where to go from here?

Thanks :)

Had a similar issue, I ended up getting a copy of Windows 7 SP1 and installing it fresh.

You should however be able to use safemode on bootup to get back to a pre-SP1 state if you have System Restore enabled. I'd then recommend backing up and doing what I did.
