Hi guys,

So I built a pc and when installing windows updates for first time we got a powercut where I live so installation was interrupted. So when I went to install the update second time around windows will only configure to about 10% before saying update failed. All other windows updates work just the service pack wont install. I have tried booting from the cd rom to do a fresh install but this won't work.

So my question is:
If I remove the SSD that windows is installed on and install windows onto my other HD and set that to the boot device. Can I put my SSD back in then and format it by the usual right click and format it in my computer. Once formatted restart the computer and install a fresh copy of windows back on to the newly formatted SSD and then wipe the HD that I temporarily installed Windows on?

Thanks

John
