Had this issue when on shutdown, the PC woul sit at the shutting down screen for around 3 minutes.
It started around 4 weeks ago, but only today did I have time to actually look into the issue.
Turns out a setting had been changed within the local host security policy, and it had been enabled, so that page files was blanked prior to shutdown.

This options isn't easily available, its not within basic control panel settings, but on machines with lots of memory and pagefile set to auto, it can take quite some time for winodws to complete the task, more than just deleting the file :)

I am rather unsure as to how the setting was activated in the first place. Anyone else have this recently, or have this change follow installation or removal of a piece of software? I would like to know how it was reset, now the issue is resolved, my shutdowns are speedy once again.
