I know this has been spoke about so much... but i'm confused and £30 is a lot too me...

When I am ordering, it says its the "upgrade" version... Does that mean the comp needs to have Vista installed before hand or it means I can also do a "clean" install?

Thanks in advance.

What the "Upgrade" part means is the type of license you are purchasing, not necessary the installation method you are going to have to do. To qualify for a Windows 7 Upgrade license, the system which you wish to install Windows 7 on must already have been licensed to a legitimate copy of an OEM or a Retail license of either Windows XP or Windows Vista. Once you have installed Windows 7 on that system, you will no longer be able to use the version of Windows that you used as the qualifying product for the upgrade:

14. UPGRADES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. Upon upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software you upgraded from. After you upgrade, you may no longer use the software you upgraded from.

Also, depending on weather you used an OEM or a Retail license of Windows XP / Windows Vista as the qualifying product for the upgrade, those same licensing restrictions will then apply to Windows 7.

As for being able to do a clean installation, this thread here will hopefully be able to help you out.

Thanks for that. Read that thread so will go ahead and buy later on today (need to find a card)...

Thanks again mate :)
