Don't know if anyone here will have had much access or knowledge on this one, but if anyone can help it'd be great.

Before I go ahead and order, Microsoft keep banging on about having an official version of Windows already. I had a dodgy copy of XP, then did a clean install of 7 RC.

So if I order will I still be able to do a clean install of 7 pro, or will it ask me for my original serial for the OS it assumes I already have.

Also, is there much point in ordering a disk, or can I just d/l and copy on a dvd.

They are offering Home Premium and Pro, which would be best to get to do a clean install, someone said Home premium was only an upgrade so it would have to be Pro.

Once again thanks in advance for any help.

I wondered this, are they upgrade versions as in do I need a legit key for vista to take up this offer??

Admittedly I'm just guessing but from reading between the lines I think to be fully licensed then yes you already need a legit key.

You can however install from scratch but whether the installation will ask for a valid Vista or XP key is not know by anyone at the moment.

If it doesn't then you will be able to install the OS and activate it but you won't necessarily be licensed to use it if you don't already own an official copy of Vista or XP.

If anyone has a way to make a bootable Windows7 ISO from the downloads they send out I'd be grateful if you could share it. I've done it already with Vista, just wondered about windows 7. They'll probably be similar, depends on how they want to do it this time I guess.

Downloading Win 7 from MSDNAA, how long will the license last? Or is it just worth getting the student offer while its still available as I assume I can use that forever.
