Hi, There is an web site where as an school student you can buy an copy of Pro or Ultimate pretty cheap. But I'am not allowed to print their web address.

Ahh thanks very much, yes im aware of the rules on retailer posting and everything, shouldve put that at the start thinking about it, is the website not microsoft as on my google searches i have not been able to find anything :(

eDIT: Facepalm, jut realised if you click no to having a valid address it comes up with vaious other retailers to buy the student one at a discounted price from, hope this hhelps others like me :)

You just did ;)

Anyway I'm not sure it's a problem posting links to student only offers, at least it hasn't seemed to be in the past, they're not available to most members and OcUK don't sell them.

Worth bearing in mind that you don't normally get full boxed versions from that site - although the savings are so good it probably doesn't matter.

You need a student email address - can't order it without one.

That being said, i'm a student at college of law and their email ends in @lawcol.co.uk but it surprisingly worked fine.

Maybe it was an exception in their database or something.

On the one everyone seems to be referring to, How do you prove that you are an eligible student for the offer?
You should have no problem in purchasing from this site example: Prof 64bit £42.95 just have your credit card (don't use debit) Don't forget its best to use 64 bit if you can (Windows 8 is coming in 128bit)
All you need from Microsoft itself - where I would prefer to buy myself:
If your university/school does not provide you with an email address, here is how you can help us verify your eligibility to the program:

1. Provide the required information requested.
2. Upload a digital scan of one of the following with your name on it:
* Student ID card
* Class list
* Proof of course payment
3. Click on the checkbox to confirm you abide by the Program Terms and Conditions.
4. Click "Submit".
5. If verified, you will be notified in 1 to 2 weeks.

Lets not do or say anything that will frighten the horses or indeed members of the flat earth Society! So 128bit aint coming - yeh Royt

Windows 8 won't support 128bit for the simple reason that it's highly doubtful there will be a mature enough hardware ecosystem to support it.

And thats with 64-bit processors being around for nearly 10 years. I have never even heard of a fully-128bit CPU so yeah, I can just see MS spending a lot of time on this.

Windows 8 won't be 128-bit, but the IA-architecture version of Windows Server 2012 might be.
