windows 7 swithing to basic colour scheme

I had this problem in MOH. Worked out how to fix it myself in the end after hours of playing interrupted games and searching.

1. Go to the game directory (Wherever you installed the game files). For BF3 on mine this is: D:\Program Files (x86)\Origin\Games\Battlefield 3\
2. Right click on bf3.exe and go to Properties.
3. Click on the Compatability and tick the Disable Desktop Composition option
4. Click ok and now run the game as normal. Aero will switch off when running the game, but the message should disappear.

Worked for MOH, haven't needed it for BF3 myself but worth a shot. :)
 
Does it not say don't remind me and keep my theme though?
Im actually surprised it even comes up with the specs in your Sig, i`ve never had it disable the theme automatically but from a quick google it seems like your GFX card is running out of memory, have you checked to see if it is?

I have had this, you can click not to remind me again but it still does it, I had it when using 4gb of ram a lot and it would switch aero off sometimes, I upgraded to 8gb, I still get an annoying message after some games but my aero is still on, I think it's a ram issue with the game it self, not so much the gpu ram more the main board ram as my 480 only uses about 1 gig or less while playing but my system ram can hit near 6 gig while playing.
 
aero is gpu powered, so having it turn off when playing a game frees up a bit more graphics memory for anti-aliasing etc. If you turn game detail down then it might stop it being turned off.
 
Sometimes it's caused by a bug. Sometimes it can be fixed by running the WEI.
Most times it's because you're running low on Video Ram.

Listen to peoples advice and disable aero on the property panel of the BF3 exe.
