Hi all,

so i got meself a shiney new 80Gb SSD to replace the 250Gb SATA. I thought i'd be able to backup a full system image to an external usb drive.
Put the new SSD in, boot from win7 repair disk and restore the image to the SSD, but .....nnnnnnnnnnoooooooooooooo, its never that easy is it.
Just kept failing saying something like it couldn't find a drive that the system image was on, which is garbage as it showed me which image to use on my external drive. Also only the SSD was showing in the list where you can select to exclude from formatting. (i didn't check the box btw).
So, i tried installing win7 on the SSD (in case it was a driver issue as it was unformatted before), then tried the restore from windows, which still prompted me to boot from repair disc and do the restore from there. Got the same failure.

Someone suggested that it has to be the same kind of drive as replacement.

Any ideas anyone?
Thanks.
