Windows 7 taking 2-3 minutes to find an internet connection

Reboot in safe mode with networking see if that works if so it's almost certainly some service or driver problem. Did you try unchecking everything in msconfig?

I did but rather than restart I just shut down so I forgot :p

When I next boot it up later today, I’ll let you know.

This issue is brand new, I moved from an x99 system to an 8700k and z370 board with the new killer control Ethernet and it’s been doing it ever since.

Router is fine, my dad doesn’t have any issues at all, as soon as windows starts, he’s connected to the network in a few seconds, like mine used to be.

Maybe I’ll uninstall the ethernet drivers and see if that helps.

So you built a new system, did a fresh windows 7 install and it has been doing this ever since first install of windows?

The reason I asked earlier if your LAN connection showsed up in task manager as soon as windows loads is that I have
seen problems when a LAN card is trying to auto negotiate the LAN speed with the router, that can add several seconds of delay

LAN cable itself is likely to be ok, but I would not rule it out until trying another
