Windows 7 Task Bar - Revert to default?

Evening all,

I put the quick launch back when I first got 7 but started using 7 at work as well, and actually really like the task bar pinning.

How do I get it back so applications use their pinned 'square' rather than normal task bar 'bar'?

Hi, right click taskbar and click properties. I think the option you mean is taskbar buttons, set this to always combine, hide labels.

Was looking all over in that menu, just didn't read the '& hide labels' bit.

Wonder if there's a edit to never combine, but hide labels.

Apparently if you set it to Never Combine and add a string called “MinWidth” to “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics” and set to 54 then restart. This should have the desired effect.

It needed the value of '40' for small icons though.
