Windows 7 Taskbar.

Right click on the taskbar > properties > taskbar buttons, then change it to never combine, use small icons to get the same size taskbar as vista :)

But the part that annoys me most, is that the little taskbar that you had on the left of the Vista Taskbar was a launcher. When you start anything in W7 from there, the icon turns into that application, and you can't click on it to open more instances/windows of it, like IE windows for example.

MSN also has to have a <Name> (available) bar open all the time, it doesn't just minimise to the right of the task bar by the clock anymore.

Am i being picky...?! :p

Nope, I'm with you there. If I close MSN, I want it to disappear, not take up valuable screen real estate. Plus, seeing it there makes me think that I've got a message when there isn't one :(

yes you can. try right clicking or shift+click instead.

Cool, thanks for those tips.

One other thing, when you have the icons with combining and you have say, 4 IE windows open, when you mouseover and choose between the 4 preview windows, it shows the desktop as you mouseover each one as you go between the gaps, it's a bit dodgy!

Geeez, i sound like a moany bug tester or something daft :o

Edit: Paul, you're a star and sorry Starky i see what you mean now! :)

the taskbar is greta. i don't get the destop when moving over teh previews. although Still running RC. I hope they haven't broken that.

Right click and you can open new instances, also right click to pin/unpin apps. You can also drag files into the icon. So say you have Open office app you can drag your most use files. Then right click and can open the file, rather than just the program. It is an amazing taskbar, give it a chance. everyone hates change, but give it a week.

I am not convinced I like it tbh. But I am perservering with it for now. I want to give it time to grow on me, but at the minute, it takes an extra click to choose the correct window. Especially annoying is when an app has a popup window and it switches to the popup intead of the app + the popup. It just doesnt seem as polished as <vista.

Clicking the middle mouse button works as a launcher for new windows to be opened..

I'm not a fan of the Win 7 taskbar because you can't disable Always on Top! So annoying :(

Whenever I get close to the bottom of the screen in a window mode game, it pops up over top. particularly annoying in games where the hotbars and ability buttons are at the bottom.
