I wasn’t too sure where to put this since it involves iPods, windows 7, iTunes, motherboards usbs.....anyways

I’ve got this thing where when I plug my iPod into a usb on the motherboard iTunes wont open, but it says its open under the processes tab in the task manager. However if I plug my iPod into my monitor (dell2209) then iTunes opens, but of course the usbs on the monitor are just extended out of my motherboard.

The problem is then, that when I plug my iPod into the monitor to transfer some music across it’ll copy a few hundred songs then it will give me some errors like “iTunes cannot locate the file “ or something, and the another error message is “iTunes is unable to sync.....(-124)”.
I have reinstalled iTunes a few times (the latest one) and copied all my music into iTunes so obviously it can locate the files. Anyways I was thinking the two problems might be related and so if I can get iTunes to open when my iPod is plugged directly into the motherboard I might be able to copy some music across.

This is with windows 7 pro 64 by the way, and the motherboard is an asus p5wdh deluxe. I also I tried downloading new drivers for the usb but asus don’t have window 7 drivers yet.

Try downloading the chipset drivers (i think the p5 series are intel[maybe wrong]) for the motherboard and try them as they will do the USB controller.
