Hello,
have just ordered a new PC from OCUK but decided to set up my OS myself assuming i could find a cheaper way to do it, now i am not so sure that is realistic and looking for some advice!
I currently have a legit windows 7 on my old PC but cannot find the discs and the Motherboard has died, i have heard that it is still possible to upgrade to 10 for free but difficult:
Thank you
have just ordered a new PC from OCUK but decided to set up my OS myself assuming i could find a cheaper way to do it, now i am not so sure that is realistic and looking for some advice!
I currently have a legit windows 7 on my old PC but cannot find the discs and the Motherboard has died, i have heard that it is still possible to upgrade to 10 for free but difficult:
- I do have the product key for 7 just not the discs
- Can i use that to download a 64 bit upgrade on a borrowed ( windows 7 32 bit) laptop? or do i have to download it straight to a USB that i have made bootable?
- I have never installed my OS before so is the above doable?
- If the free upgrade is no longer obtainable can anyone advise a possible cheaper option, are all those OEM sales on Amazon dodgy?
- I am based in the EU if that makes any difference to what is available
Thank you
