Anyone help here, trying to install 7 ultimate on my mothers computer, it's an Acer aspire SA80-9b7z, it has a pentium 4, and 1gig ram, on-board gfx etc.

Anyway the install goes fine until the system reboots, then it carry's on with the screen completing installation and at that point it just hangs, the dots keep moving, and the keyboard ain't locked it just refuses to move on from that point.

I left it for over an hour and still stuck at the same point, any ideas???

Cheers.

P.S. vista 64 works fine on it.

Crap joke.

If serious, why someone would spend even £60 (academic edition offer for ultimate upgrade) on such a PC is beyond me.

Also the pentium 4 has to be 64 bit to work.

edit:

If Vista 64 does work, I guess it is 64 bit.

Yeah, Stuck XP back on there now, no problems with that, and I have 7 ultimate running fine on a slower computer then that, installed fine.
